Privacy policy

Who this covers

This policy covers two different groups: people who contact Contractor Catch about the service, and the customers of our clients whose information passes through the system. The obligations differ and we treat them separately.

What we collect and why

If you contact us: we collect what you send — name, business, phone, email, and whatever you tell us about your operation. We use it to answer you and to run the service if you become a client. We don't sell it and we don't share it with anyone except the providers below.

If you're a customer of one of our clients: your phone number and the content of your messages with that business are processed so the business can respond to you. That data belongs to the business, not to us. We act on their instructions, we don't use it for our own marketing, and we don't sell it to anyone.

Who we share it with

• Telecom and messaging providers, to send and receive messages
• Cloud hosting and database providers, to run the service
• Payment processing, to bill clients — we never see full card numbers
• Where automated message drafting is used, an AI provider under terms that prohibit training on the content

Retention and deletion

Message and call records are retained while a client's account is active and for a limited period afterwards so records can be exported or produced if disputed. Clients can request an export or a deletion of their data at any time by emailing info@ContractorCatch.com. Deletion requests from an individual customer are passed to the business that holds the relationship and actioned with them.

Your rights

Canadian privacy law gives you the right to access the personal information an organisation holds about you and to ask for corrections. Send those requests to info@ContractorCatch.com and we'll respond within thirty days. If you're unhappy with the outcome you can escalate to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Data is stored in Canada or the United States depending on the provider. We can tell you specifically which, on request.
